John Calvert
President & Chief Executive Officer

John Calvert is a seasoned business professional with over 35 years of diversified expertise within the building and manufacturing trades.  “Entrepreneurial driven” throughout his career, Mr. Calvert obtained his General Contractor’s license at age 21, when his early building career included custom home building and residential construction in and around the San Fernando Valley. He later diversified into the textile and apparel industries, where he founded several companies and at an early age served as President of Adidas, USA. He was also founder of nationally recognized Cal Sport, which was sold to The North Face in 1991. 
 
Based on multi-level business management skills with strong business development, financial and marketing expertise, Mr. Calvert started The Network Group, a consulting firm which joined the CPA firm of Stonefield Josephson, where he grew the practice, offering services of business planning, profit enhancement, production engineering, mergers and acquisitions. Going full circle back to the building industry, Mr. Calvert established JRC Development, LLC, with a focus on residential land development and custom home sites primarily within the Santa Clarita Valley and northern Los Angeles County.
 
Today, as President and CEO of Cal Energy Group™ , Mr. Calvert has the leadership abilities, management expertise and team-building skill sets to bring the vision of the company to fruition and become a recognized leader in the Renewable Energy Industry.

Richard A. Patterson
Founding Partner

Richard Patterson's desire to provide greater access to alternative energy resources and for a cleaner plant led him and Mr. Calvert to form Cal Energy Group.

Over the course of his thirty two years as a practicing attorney, Mr. Patterson has represented local and national clients in the areas of corporate, banking and realestate law. Currently, Mr. Patterson is the senior partner of the nationally recognized law firm Owen, Patterson and Owen, located in Santa Clarita, California.

He holds a BA from Brigham Young University and received his juris doctorate from the University of LaVerne.

Ray W. Kosanke
Executive Vice President 

Ray enjoyed more than two decades in the photovoltaic and solar Industry prior to joining the Cal Energy Group, and has worked with major manufacturers such as ARCO Solar and Kyocera Solar. In his seven years at ARCO Solar, Ray was instrumental in putting photovoltaics on the map in the U.S. and abroad, including the first major megawatt-sized ground mounted tracking systems, which proved solar’s potential and its ability to successfully integrate into the power grids of Southern California Edison and Pacific Gas & Electric. 
 
Ray has also worked with leading-edge thin film manufacturers, distributors, systems integrators, original equipment manufacturers and dealers in a widely diversified career in the solar electric industry. Based on his in-depth knowledge and understanding of the renewable energy field, it is understandable why Ray is widely recognized as an expert within our industry. 
 
He holds a BA from Stanford University, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and studied basic electronics at Moorpark College.

Blake Webster
Chief Operations Officer

Blake Webster joined Cal Energy Group in May 2009; bringing with him valuable experience in strategic planning, research, systems analysis and operations. Blake has experience in economic and financial modeling systems which enables Cal Energy Group to provide its customers with clear and relevant data in the rapidly evolving renewable energy market.  As a graduate from Brigham Young University in economics and business, Blake has developed a skill set that includes research, financial analysis and economic modeling which helps maintain Cal Energy Group's ability to provide clear and relevant answers in the rapidly evolving renewable energy market.

As a member of the Cal Energy Group, he plays a critical role in the creation and continual development of Cal Energy Group's financial models. He is also responsbile for analyzing the needs of clients and determining the range of benefits available with a custom designed solar system. Blake's passion and knowledge of technology allows him to oversee the acquisition and implementation of the latest technology solutions which ensures that Cal Energy Group's clients receive the most productive and cost effective solar systems available.

He holds a BS in economics and business from Brigham Young University.
